Description

The FFWD DRIFT has been designed from the very first sketch with one goal: to provide the ultimate gravel experience. Thanks to the hookless rim technology and a generous internal width of 24mm, this wheelset offers unprecedented stability for tires up to 60mm wide. Whether you choose the robust Control or the aerodynamic Pace, you are guaranteed a wheelset that absorbs the toughest vibrations and gives you the grip needed on technical terrain. Handbuilt in the Netherlands with attention to every detail, so you only need to focus on the path ahead.

Technology

The DRIFT series uses a special carbon laminate that is extra impact-resistant, essential for flying stones and rough terrain. The hookless rim edge provides a lighter rim and a stronger rim edge, optimizing the transition between tire and rim for lower rolling resistance. Equipped with high-quality DT Swiss hubs featuring the patented Ratchet system, ensuring direct engagement and maximum durability, even in muddy conditions.

Fully optimized for gravel bikes

The DRIFT, as the name suggests, is the first FFWD wheelset specifically designed for gravel. The extra-wide rims with an internal width of 24mm allow for tires ranging from 30 to an impressive 60mm wide. And of course, the DRIFT wheels come fully tubeless ready.

Because wheels endure a lot during gravel rides, we equipped the DRIFT with thicker spokes for more stability and durability. For the DRIFT, we chose the DT Aero Comp straight pull, 24 spokes front and rear. Despite this, the total weight of the DRIFT wheelset is only 1515 grams.

Full carbon tubeless ready rims

With a medium rim profile of 36mm high, the DRIFT offers the perfect balance between stiffness and comfort, resulting in unparalleled riding performance. Want to perfect every detail? Then go for the ultimate experience of riding with tubeless tires. Minimal rolling resistance combined with optimal handling and protection at low tire pressure. With the DRIFT, you’re fully ready!

Another advantage of the DRIFT rims is the hookless construction. This makes the rim lighter and provides a more efficient tire rounding, resulting in even better handling and stability on the bike.

Stand out with DRIFT decals in custom colors

The standard glossy black decals naturally look great on any bike. But imagine the DRIFT wheels with custom decals in colors that perfectly match your bike. How cool is that! Especially for the DRIFT series, we offer custom decals in no less than 17 colors that you can easily apply yourself.

If you order a set of (new) DRIFT wheels here, the color option is free! Add the decals in your chosen color to your cart and the amount will be automatically deducted!

Choice of high-end hubs

Hubs are undoubtedly an essential component, perhaps the most essential part of high-end wheels. With the DRIFT, you can choose our own FFWD hubs, which offer a very solid and reliable base without compromises in quality and durability. Want to save extra weight combined with higher precision and stiffness? Then the DT 240 hubs with the improved EXP ratchet system might be the best choice!

The hubs are standard compatible with 12mm thru-axles, but thanks to the conversion kits, they can quickly be converted to 15mm thru-axles or quick release skewers. Each type of hub in the DRIFT wheels is compatible with center lock disc rotors.
