Customization is our passion

Fully customized, from the very first step

At Bykz, a custom build starts not with the parts, but with the rider. We analyze your riding style, goals, and preferences to create the perfect combination of frame, wheelset, groupset, and cockpit. Every bike is built with one clear goal: maximum performance for your specific use.

Access to the best top brands and components

We work exclusively with high-quality frames and premium components. Think of top brands like Colnago, Specialized, and Merida, combined with the best wheelsets and parts on the market. This allows us to create almost any high-end configuration you have in mind.

Professional assembly in our own workshop

Each bike is assembled with utmost precision and attention to detail in our specialized workshop. The adjustment, fit, and component integration are carefully carried out so that all parts work perfectly together. The result is a custom build that is not only exclusive but also technically flawless down to the last detail.

A personal and unique journey

A custom build is not a standard purchase, but an intensive collaboration. Throughout the entire process, we guide you with professional advice, technical knowledge, and passion for the craft. This way, we ensure that all the individual components come together in one perfectly tuned bike that is unique to you.

frame type, brand, size, and color

When building your custom dream bike, we always start with your personal goals and wishes, which we combine with our professional advice. The first steps are crucial: we determine which high-quality brand forms the perfect base for your riding style and exactly which frame size you need for the ultimate geometry. Have you already had a professional bike fitting? Feel free to bring the data and reports to the store. We translate those numbers directly into the build, so we can deliver your new machine perfectly tailored down to the millimeter.

Although the paint and color of your bike do not affect your pure performance or wattage, they certainly determine the look and morale as soon as you get on. So choose a style that truly suits you. Do you go for a bold, eye-catching design or do you prefer a sleek, understated classic with a timeless look? A bright color also has the great functional advantage that you stand out much better in traffic, which directly increases your safety on the road. Finally, this is the moment to perfect the details: seamlessly match the color of the frame to your favorite cycling clothing, helmet, or specific wheelset for the ultimate complete look.

Select your groupset

We supply all groupsets from SRAM, Shimano, and Campagnolo, so we can always build the perfect match for your budget and goals. Although we can provide any model, for our custom builds we standardly choose the electronic 12-speed top segments due to their unmatched performance.

Each brand has its own character in this:

SRAM AXS (with the Force and the absolute top model Red) works completely wirelessly via Bluetooth, providing a super sleek look.

Shimano Di2 (with the Ultegra and the flagship Dura-Ace) uses a wired internal battery and is known for its legendary, lightning-fast, and reliable shifting performance.

Campagnolo (with the iconic wireless Super Record group) is for the connoisseur and excels in exclusive Italian design, high-quality carbon finish, and an unparalleled ergonomic feel.

Which groupset suits you best depends entirely on your riding style, budget, and personal preference. When assembling your custom build, we will of course advise you extensively on this, so the setup perfectly matches your dream bike.

Choose your wheels

When assembling your custom build, we carefully consider the right wheelset, as it has a huge impact on the riding experience. We supply all brands of wheels, so we can always lace the perfect set that matches your preferences. Broadly, we distinguish between two types of wheelsets:

Climbing wheels: These are super light and have a lower rim height (often under 38 mm). This makes them ideal for high mountain terrain. They provide efficient climbing, steer extremely agilely, and remain stable and controllable in strong crosswinds during technical descents.

Aero wheels: These have a higher rim (often 50 mm or more) and are designed to minimize air resistance. They are ideal for maintaining high speeds on flat terrain. They are slightly heavier and more sensitive to wind, but offer unmatched aerodynamic stability at a fast pace.

Whether you choose a specific wheelset from a well-known top brand or a unique custom set: the right choice depends on your riding style and the terrain you ride on. We are happy to advise you during the assembly process, so the wheels perfectly match your goals.

Configure your cockpit

The handlebar width of a racing bike is essential for your comfort, control, and aerodynamics. A handlebar perfectly matched to your shoulder width ensures a natural posture and prevents complaints in the shoulders, arms, or wrists. If it is too narrow or too wide, it unnecessarily consumes a lot of energy and you lose control. The right handlebar width, on the other hand, provides maximum stability in corners, increases your safety at high speeds, and helps you effortlessly adopt an efficient, aerodynamic riding position.

Nowadays, many riders choose an integrated one-piece carbon cockpit with internal cabling. This saves weight, offers a significant aerodynamic advantage, and provides a super sleek look. When assembling your custom build, we carefully consider your body type and riding style to select the cockpit that gives you ultimate control.

Select your saddle

The saddle is perhaps the most important contact point between you and your bike. A well-fitting saddle is crucial for both your comfort and performance: it prevents saddle pain, pinching pressure points, and unnecessary friction during long rides. Additionally, the right support helps you maintain a relaxed, stable riding position. This not only ensures more efficient power transfer to the pedals but also gives you noticeably better control of the bike in sharp turns and at high speeds.

Because the anatomy of men and women differs—particularly in the width and structure of the pelvis—we offer saddles in various shapes and widths. Biologically, women often benefit from a slightly wider model or extra pressure relief, while men usually prefer a narrower saddle. When assembling your custom build, we therefore take a very close look at your body type and riding style to ensure you ride comfortably and efficiently.

Choose your tires

Choosing the right tires has a huge impact on your speed, comfort, and puncture resistance. When assembling your custom build, we carefully consider the type of tire that best suits your riding style and the terrain you ride on. Depending on your goals, you can choose from different features:

Performance & Grip: Fast racing tires are feather-light and designed for minimal rolling resistance and maximum cornering grip, although they are often a bit more prone to punctures. Looking for maximum reliability? Puncture-resistant tires have extra protective layers against sharp objects; they weigh a bit more but provide complete peace of mind during long rides.

Seasons & Setup: For cold and wet weather, there are winter tires with a softer rubber compound and a stronger construction for extra grip and puncture protection. Additionally, a tubeless setup (riding without an inner tube) is now the standard: the special sealant automatically seals small holes on the go, providing more comfort, less rolling resistance, and excellent puncture protection.

The finishing touch: Appearance matters too. Tires are available in various styles, from fully classic black to sporty tan-wall (skinwall) variants with a brown sidewall, so they seamlessly match the look of your custom dream bike.

Additional upgrades

In addition to the standard configuration, you can refine your custom build with optional upgrades down to the smallest detail for even better performance, lower weight, and a more exclusive finish.

The most popular optimizations at a glance:

Ceramic bearings: By choosing ceramic bearings in your bottom bracket, derailleur pulleys, or wheel hubs, you reduce friction compared to standard steel bearings. This results in a smoother-running drivetrain and pure wattage gain.

High-end components: Save maximum weight and give your bike a unique look with upgrades such as lighter cassettes, carbon bottle cages, or titanium bolts.

Performance-oriented innovations: Think aerodynamic cockpit solutions, high-end wheelsets, or special friction-reducing coatings on the chain and rotating parts.

These upgrades are completely optional and perfect for riders aiming for absolute top performance. When assembling your custom build, we will honestly advise you on which upgrades will truly make a difference for your riding style and goals.

Custom vs. standard bicycles

Is a custom build always more expensive?

A custom build doesn't have to be more expensive than a standard model in the end. In fact, if you buy a factory bike and later need to replace parts like the handlebars, wheels, or saddle, you often end up spending more. By selecting everything exactly as you want from the start, you only invest in the components you truly want.

Why choose a custom build?

"By choosing a custom build, you ensure a bike that is fully tailored to your specific needs. You invest only in what you will truly use and never pay for components you would later prefer to remove immediately.
