No compromise has been made in terms of materials or design to realize this wheelset from an idea on paper to the final wheels for our gravel bikes. Tested for over a year by many pro riders in the UCI gravel series and winning multiple Gravel UCI World Cup races in 2022. We are proud to present the new GA40 carbon aero wheels for gravel bikes. Weighing only 1,549 grams with 40mm carbon rims.
GA40 Rims
Off-road Aero is a new adventure, and we enlisted renowned aerodynamics specialist Paul Lew to create the first true off-road aero gravel wheelset that actually works and provides aerodynamic benefits. The big smile on the faces of our pro riders when they win with these wheels is all you really need to know.
The first rim in the Ere wheelset with a hookless rim design. The perfect combination with our handmade Tenaci tires. The wheels are tubeless-ready.
The GA40 rims have a height of 40mm and an inner width of 26mm. The rims use 24 spokes in the front wheel and 24 spokes in the rear wheel. The aerodynamic shape of the wheel provides an excellent riding experience. The weight of the rim is 488 grams per rim.
Iona S Hubs
The Tenaci GA40 wheels are paired with the new Ere Research Iona-S hubs, featuring a 100% in-house designed and manufactured construction. The hubs are practically unbreakable and will last almost a lifetime if properly maintained. The straight-pull spoke system has a low profile and robust design. The tilted flange supports the power transfer going through the hub body, allowing the hub to handle any load. For our Iona S hubs, we use SKF sealed bearings. Perfect for wet gravel adventures, reliable, and durable. The Iona S hubs are equipped with a 36T star ratchet system (upgradeable to 54T), providing instant engagement in all riding conditions. Iona hubs are available with Shimano, Campagnolo, and SRAM XDR freehub body options.
Torque 2 Design
Torque 2 ensures that the forces absorbed by the hub due to disc brake load during braking are well distributed. When the rear wheel receives torque from the hub body through pressure via the chain and cassette, those forces are directed to where the material is strongest. This allows us to remove material where possible and add material where necessary.
Our Iona hub series is as light as possible, without sacrificing strength and reliability. At the same time, we have maintained structural integrity with a very thin-walled construction of high-quality aluminum. This results in weights of only 235 grams for the rear hub and 100 grams for the front hub.
Spokes
The GA40 wheels are built with black Sapim CX Delta/Sprint spokes. The black straight-pull spokes have an aero bladed finish and provide a lot of extra strength to the wheel. The front and rear wheels are laced to the hub with 24 spokes.
Nipples
For the Tenaci GA40, we use Sapim 14mm nipples in a black finish.
Tubeless
The tubeless valves are in the box, and the tubeless tape is already mounted on the wheels.
Lifetime warranty
The Tenaci GA40 can be registered for a lifetime warranty. The maximum rider weight is set at 140 kg.
Finish
Available in matte and glossy finishes and various decal colors.
